Area Police
Approximately 50 vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Vehicles, walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a release.
Law enforcement state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The liquid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then located numerous other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials report initial examinations suggest the fluid was likely blood from a person.
"There is still no indication as to its source; investigators are presently not aware of any harm in association with the incident," they added.
City officials stated they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the community for details.
A high-ranking representative stated the attack left him without words and required to be resolved promptly.
"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on online, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
